According to coating materials, the lightweight conveyor belt of Shanghai Jingbang mainly includes thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU) conveyor belt, thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPEE) conveyor belt, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) conveyor belt and polyethylene (PE) conveyor belt. The fabric layer is made of warp and weft yarn, which is the skeleton of the lightweight conveyor belt. The combination of warp and weft determines the turning radius, lateral stability, extension strength, noise resistance and burring resistance of the cloth. Common materials are polyester, cotton, linen, nylon, aramid and carbon fiber.

The coating material is mainly made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU), polyethylene (PE), thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPEE) or Silicone Rubber. The hardness and thickness of the material are mainly determined by the practical application.

Thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU) is a block copolymer formed by addition polymerization of macromolecule diol (polyester or polyether), diisocyanate (MDI, HDI, PPDI) and small molecule chain extender (diol or diamine). The long chain polyols (polyether or polyester) in the main chain of TPU macromolecule constitute the soft segment, which mainly controls its low temperature performance, solvent resistance and weather resistance, while the chain extender and polyisocyanate constitute the hard segment, which determines the hardness, heat resistance and mechanical properties of the elastomer. Using different varieties and structures of raw materials polyol, diisocyanate and chain extender can be synthesized into a variety of different properties, a wide range of uses of TPU, and the ratio of hard and soft segments can be adjusted in a wide range, but also with the help of different additives and different blending modification ways to give it more broad performance.

Processing technology of PU conveyor belt

1: Extrusion calendering process

The TPU raw material is transparent and granular. After drying initially, it is fed into the extruder according to the fixed formula process to extrude the thin film. The thin film is calendered and bonded with the coated substrate cloth.

Simple process flow, high production efficiency; The reduction of raw material strength is low, and the conveyor belt strength is higher than the scraping process; TPU adhesive layer is not easy to produce bubbles, dense structure, high thickness uniformity.

2: Scraping and calendering process

After drying and dehumidification, the raw materials of TPU are evenly coated and coated on the rubber base cloth with a scraper. After infrared heating and melting, the multi-roll calendering composite molding is carried out. Then the multi-layer composite calendering and embossing process is carried out to produce the required conveyor belt.

Raw materials need to be processed several times, including color mixing, grinding and other processes. The strength attenuation of raw materials is large, the rubber layer is easy to produce bubbles, and the thickness control is difficult and the uniformity is poor.

PE conveyor belt

PE conveyor belt is a conveyor belt composed of PE material after hot melt plasticization and calendering. Because polyethylene material is odorless, non-toxic, feel like wax, has excellent low temperature resistance, good chemical stability, and can resist most acid and base erosion (not resistant to acid with oxidizing properties). Insoluble in general solvent at room temperature, small water absorption, good electrical insulation.
